About the CFRR

A celebration of our western roots and our brothers and sisters in law enforcement and first responders.

The First Responder's Rodeo is a non-profit society with a rich history and a commitment to two primary objectives. Host a safe, professionally run rodeo for our brothers and sisters and bring awareness to and raise funds for our benefactors, the Missing Children Society of Canada and the Calgary Children’s Cottage.

What’s On

From our Kid’s Corral to the CFRR Barn Dance, we’re more than just a rodeo – the First Responder’s Rodeo has something for everyone.

Our Impact

From day one, our goal has been to give back to the community in a meaningful way. Find out more about how the CFRR has helped.

Our Team

The CFRR wouldn’t be possible without the support of our sponsors, our dedicated Board and selfless team of volunteers.

Our History

Our story began in 1983 with a group of Calgary Police officers had a vision to have our own celebration of  our western heritage while giving back to the community.

After over four decades, what started as the Calgary Police Rodeo has evolved into the Calgary First Responder’s Rodeo and has become a one-of-a-kind event, that brings together all first responders from police, fire, and EMS along with their families and friends to gather for a truly unique experience.

The Rodeo is a family-focused, fun-for-all celebration of our western heritage and a highlight of the summer. We owe our success to the dedication of our Board of Directors, the generosity of our sponsors, the hard work of countless volunteers and their families, the participation of our rodeo participants, and the support of our spectators.

We tip our cowboy hats to all who make our annual weekend in August such a memorable experience.

Every Buck Counts

This exciting event is not just about the rodeo — it’s about giving back. Proceeds will directly support vital community charities. Not only will you be supporting our bravest first responders in the arena, you’ll be helping to provide support for Missing Children Society of Canada and the Children’s Cottage Society. Every ticket, every donation, every buck counts toward making a meaningful difference. Let’s saddle up for a cause!
